Hey, i ran a HP motherboard replacement call last week. After the swap i was getting a "no cpu fan detected" error and it would shut down in 5 seconds.
To get it to boot i needed to swap the carriage fan to the CPU FAN # 1 spot and up booted the machine. After flashing the machine to the Spring03 bios i could move the fan back to where it was on the original board.
no cpu fan processor fan no boot quick shutdown shutting down in five seconds etc.etc.
