Green Street Hooligans [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by IdiotInTheBox »

I was renting movies earlier today and i saw a poster for the movie Green Street Hooligans. It stars Elijah Wood who "plays a wrongfully expelled Harvard undergrad who moves to London, where he is introduced to the violent underworld of soccer hooliganism." I've been waiting for this movie since last year. It had a REALLY limited U.S. release which really pissed me off!

Anyone manage to catch this in theatre's? The DVD comes out June 13th and it was an amazing movie. Highly recommended :yeah:

I havent seen it advertised on TV yet, but i've seen some posters for it, like the rental places. I decided to pre-order the DVD so it should be here immediately when its released. The official site (http://www.warnervideo.com/greenstreethooligans/) has a lot of information on the movie, cast, etc, it even has a small game :P

Yeah I was lucky enough to catch this on one of the few theaters it played at in the US. I was very pleased by the movie - Elijah Woods was an excellent actor as usual. The movie was really intense and like nothing I'd seen before.

Took the words right out of my finger tips. Wasn't it weird seeing Elijah Wood act violently though? It was just weeeeiiiiird in my opinion. But yeah, amazing movie. Going to buy the DVD in a few days when I get the money to.

Yeah its a different role for Woods but he plays it very well. Its nice to see him in a different environment than some fantasy world. I finally picked up the DVD the other day and an really glad I did. Theres even a contest for the movie over at vmix.com

I heard about it a while ago, never heard of a theatre release for it, but I did hear about the dvd coming out, which I think it already has. I went looking for Green Streets around here, but of course, rental store didn't have it. So I think I'm just going to buy it. Sounds good, my sister should like it, she loves anything that has soccer in it.

Excellent movie. Elijah is very wise to choose smaller independant roles like this and eternal sunshine. I was never really a big follower of soccer (or football rather lol) until I saw this movie and learned of the hooliganism aspect. I also saw something on Vmix.com related to the movie, looks very easy BTW and worth it. Oh PS does anyone know the names of the songs in the movie? I'm too lazy to look at the movie credits (though I have bought the DVD, it impressed me as much)

Ah, looks like that contest is over with, what a shame too... anyway, I LOVE this movie. The fighting is just so well done, and the acting, oh man, don't get me started on the acting. Elijah Wood is just amazing, I mean, at first you think "Can he actually act violent and be believeable? And the answer is, YES! But nothing beats his first fight, that was the best thing ever. I love to watch that scene over and over again, I just can't stop laughing at it. Great movie, highly reccommend it.
