Maynard will pwn you!

I wasn't really a tool fan until i saw them live from the 3rd row at Lolapolloza 97...man can they rock the house. Been a fan ever since then. (Prodegy, Snoop Dogg and Korn also graced teh stage)

BTW I dunno if you're a Dane Cook fan, but when you said "un-fucking-believable" I almost pissed my pants.

Hope your next concert goes better than that one :hehe:

UPDATE

Just want to let you all know that my wife ended up buying me 2 tickets to the Vegas Concert :) Went to that and we were so close I could spit on the stage. Literally about 5-10 people in between me and the stage.

AND today I just got back from their concert at street scene here in San Diego. I live about a block away from where they were playing, so we walked down there without tickets (hoping to find a scalper) and turns out you could see the stage perfectly from the sidewalk. So we just chilled there and watched the show. (too bad I didnt bring a cooler full of beer but oh well) Great view and it sounded awesome!

Envy me. :yeah:

After finding out that Tool was hitting the stage at about 11:30PM Sunday, I left from San Diego at around 4:00. It took about 2 hours to get to Coachella and another 2 hours to find a parking spot amongst the millions of cars parked in the lots. We walked about a mile to the gate and got right in.

It was about 7:00 by then. There were a shit ton of people there, mostly young kids dressed in all black, you know the scene. My wife, of course, didnt feel confortable there. She made it known right away when she told me to "watch out for needles on the ground". I was born in raised in NY so this was no big thing to me.

She asked if we could go check out the Madonna tent first, because she was set to perform at around 8ish. We walked all the way across Coachella to the tent, and just as we were almost into it she stops me and says "I think that was nicky hilton back there". I of course told her she was crazy and was seeing things. So what does she do? She walks right up to the girl and says "Your nicky hilton right? My husband didnt think it was you". She smiles and tells ME that it was really her. I just kinda waved and smiled.

After our little meeting, we started walking into the rave-like tent that was the Madonna Tent. Everyone was dancing (obviously on E) and tripping out. My wife is shorter than I so she couldnt even see the stage from where we were. I tried to work my way farther to the front, but it was just too packed. She then told me "forget this lets go get a good spot at the main stage for Tool". Fine by me =)

So we walk all the way back over to the main stage where they wouldnt be performing for another 4 hours or so. I started to make my move... slowly working my way to the front of the crowd. Everyone someone would leave, I would move up. We did this for about 30 minutes until all of a sudden I look down and my wife has her jacket over her nose.

I ask her whats wrong with you? She says "I dont want to get stoned" (shes very drug paranoid.. not a big fan. I personally dont do it anymore, but I have no problem with the smell of weed.). She then tells me...

...

...

I'm going to go sit in the car.

!!!!!!!!!

I couldnt believe it. What the hell?!

Your not going to walk a mile back to the car.. in the dark.. by yourself and sit in the car alone. Cant you just tough it out? Nope...

So after about 5 minutes of arguing about it and me saying "un-fucking-believable" we left. 4 hours before it even took place. Walked a mile back to the car. Out of the park in which the signs read "No re-entry". Great.

I bet you thought it ended there right?

We find the car after I hit the alarm which continues to beep for about 2 minutes until I finally get it to stop. I get in, and all of a sudden, my wife starts screaming uncontrolably.

"It burns, It burns!"

... "whats your problem?", i say.

"Something just bit me!!"

... "well shut the fuck up and quit screaming someones going to think im raping you in here!"

I look down at her arm and she had a nice little stinger sticking out of it.

;)

... I flick it out and apply pressure to her arm. "You'll be fine". We stop over at the drug store to get some "childrens antisting cream" ... childrens.

I then have my own Tool Concert in the car on the ride back home to San Diego. .. For two hours straight.

NEXT DAY

My wife is feeling guilty about what happened.

She crys and crys and tells me shes been on the phone looking for tickets and that shes buying them with her inharitence money.

SOOOO If you need me I will be at the Tool concert in Las Vegas Hard Rock this Friday night.

.... Hopefully....

:wallbang:

Just having read that instantly made me angry. Next time tell your wife to go to an Army Surplus store and buy a damn gas mask, like anybody at a tool concert would notice it. Or say "STAY AT HOME!". Damn thats a load of bullshit.
