Two movies that have come to mind for movie suggestions are:



Like Water for Chocolate, a foreign film (spanish with english sub-titled, sorry colby.) It is a drama, sad and strange. It is one of my favorite movies.

The House of the Spirits, the best movie Winona Ryder has been in. I am actually quite suprised that she would be in such a strange and off the beaten path movie. It is another drama, doused with politics, and just a dash of a love story (which is only compelling because of the political and social dynamics of her family and his.) Again, another of my favorite movies.
