It really is possible.



Heres a list of things that can be done a lot easier if the database is converted to SQL.



Top 100 Players List (Sorted by gold,job xp,base xp)

Top 100 Guilds List (Sorted by gold,job xp,base xp)

Online Character Bio's complete with pets, items, etc.

Whos Online List w/ classes & lvls

Dynamic database information

Dynamic Server information



GM's would have the ability to edit mobs/items via the website.

How is converting TXT files to SQL translated into him wanting to host it?

Ok, that statement was more or less directed at invisi because the three of us.. meaning Ghal, Invisi, and myself.. were talking about this the other night. Ghal *knows* that invisi cannot run the SQL version. So what does he do? He pumps up excitement about all the cool things you could do in the SQL version here in the forums, without letting you know invisi can not do those things... giving him way to give his punchline: "sounds cool right? well if you want those things, invisi can't give them to you.. but if he gives it to me to host all your SQL ran RO dreams can come true." That is how he is pushing to host it. He has consistently asked/hinted at invisi to let him host it. Now I am not saying that Ghal hasn't been very helpful, he gets full and utter credit for giving us all the stable version on the files we need. He deserves credit for the work he put in to find them and test them. He deserves credit for taking the time to arrange and post all the information in such an organized and coherent fashion. But, he is pushing to host it. We don't know who is going to host it. I have a very small say in it, but in all reality invisi has the final say in anything that goes on with RO.

Personally, and I'll write-up a more detailed post about this in the near future, but I don't see why we're running a server. All the work and dedication neccessary to make/keep it up, without a lot to show for it. I'd like to see us all move to a server together, get a guild formed, and be able to have fun with RO and the people of FHQ rather than the worry, nagging, and unrest this has caused so far, even if it's only been a small amount.

If I have motiviation later this morning, I'll post more.

Personally im not too keen on what you just said, its kind of defamatory on what im trying to accomplish but in a way it does make sense.
