It was said on the radio news yesterday that the album would in fact be called 10,000 years. It is supposedly an indication of how long it took to make this album and how hard it was to make it. It has been reported that the album will be harder and a bit more angry. This is not the only album to come out in the next several months with this theme. Pearl Jam has an album coming out in May that is reported to be the hardest PJ to date... and reported to be filled with a lot of anger and frustration. This too has been reported to have taken a long time to create, just one of the reasons the album is anger and frustration driven.

I've listened to plenty of tool. I can get into certain songs like "Hush" (I believe thats what its called) but it definatly takes a certain taste to listen to them.

OMG I felt the same way about Tool for a very long time. Glenn used to listen to it all the time. Then one day he left Aenima in my car tape player, and since the radio stations sucked I listened to it. The song it started playing (my favorite Tool song ever) was Forty-Six & 2. I was driving along picking my scabs (an obsession I have) when the lyrics went like this "My shadow’s, shedding skin... I’ve been picking scabs again." My ears perked up and I started listening to the lyrics very closely... "I’m down, digging through... my old muscles looking for a clue." and so I just kept listening and listening. I couldn't help myself. I started paying attention to the lyrics, my ears longing for the next line. I found myself engrossed in music that actually MEANT something, lyrics that were intelligent, and with words that were suprisingly lyrical. I have been singing my entire life, and Maynard has such a sweet aching-heart voice.

On a side note: If ANYONE out there is good at converting guitar music into piano music... I will actually pay you to do a rendition of Forty-Six & 2 on the piano. I hear it in piano in my head everytime I listen to it, and I hear a female singing it. I want to do a cover of this song, however, my piano skills are good at playing... just not converting. Seriously, I will pay you to do it.

Aye, I have heard it. I do like it. I have been classicaly trained on stringed instruments. I play viola... I also play guitar, piano, and canter. I can play.. not really write or convert. I have been searching for 5 years for someone to convert it to piano :( I can't find anyone who can.

Being the long time tool fan that I am im kinda weary about the whole april release thing as tool is known for being april fools pranksters

No doubt. I fell for the whole 'finding jesus' thing that he announced last year. I was pissed to say the least ;)

Anyways, people are saying that the music for the new album is even darker because his mother 'Judith' died 2 years ago.

Death = Bad for James, Good for Tools music.
