reinstall windows xp. do a fresh install but don't format a new partition.. leave it as is. This will leave all the files on your computer. Then install wg server and all your applications.

try this step first and if it doesn't work do it after you've done above... mainly after you've installed all your appz.

run.. msconfig.. under the startup tab disable all. under the services tab, hide all microsoft svcs, uncheck everything checked, click ok, reboot.

install your anti-virus. I hate norton. I recommend Computer Associates EZ anti virus. www.ca.com. Small, simple, STRONG. $30.

also, you don't need to backup your wgserv directory. it will remain whereever it is (probably in your root c:\ drive) after you fresh reinstall windows. All you'll have to do is reinstall the wg server. all the data is already in there, just make sure you install it into the same directory you're using now, i.e. c:\wgserv.
