Hardware Analysis has an article posted that flat out says Intel and Microsoft have sold out (http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1811/) and sided with the RIAA’s “unbridled greed” to screw the end user.
East Fork will start shipping in the first quarter of 2006, quite in time for the release of Windows Vista. The combination of the two will mean that you, the end-user, will be royally screwed in every way, shape and form. That’s right, once East Fork and Vista ship you can forget about exercising your fair-use rights, no more converting songs to MP3, no more music downloads to- and from friends and family, no more DivX movies, and the list goes on.
I have a fair amount of disdain for the RIAA / MPAA and their tactics, but could you imagine for one moment the scenario described above? I can’t. I could be wrong but I doubt it. Anyone remember the way Intel knuckled under with the PIII, PSN and the whole “Trusted PC” thing?
***My Personal Note***: I wouldnt put much stock into this one, things like this have been tried many times before only to be stoped at the last minute due to public uproar. And besides, if this came into play it wouldnt be long before people came up with patches and fixes to circumvent this supposed "Next Generation Secure Computing Base".

Yeah 2 seconds after it hit the market there would be many many people working on a way to crack whatever securities are in place to prevent the mentioned above.
Take a step back and try think for a second... How well is microsoft currently on securities??? Itll never happen. Vista was hacked with a virus in less then 2 weeks of its Beta release. The RIAA and the MPAA can shove it up thier asses. If they want money then they need to start producing good quality music/movies again. IMO the last GOOD movie that was out was LOTR. They also need to realize that people cant pay for movies and music like they used too. A lot of people I know now are getting a paycheck and using most of it for bills and the rest for gas just to GET to work to make money. There is no room for 10 bucks a ticket at a movie or 15 bucks for a cd with 1 or 2 decent songs and the rest garbage.
