now that I re-read shaddow's post, I don't think he even went to the link! It doesn't even appear he knew it was a monitor.... Man, you really hate Dell that much?
No I didn't click on the link.. I just figured it was a dell system.
Yeah I hate Dell that much. Friends dont let friends buy a Dell. :wallbang:
I got a Benq 17" for $387.00(inc Tax) cdn about 2 months ago. From Staples.ca (http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=,&webid=554939&affixedcode=WW) they beat Futureshop.ca (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10058421&catid=22333)'s price by 15% and took an added $15 dollars off, So I bought 2 of them.

I love Dells. I've never had a problem with them.
Plus, the hard drive in your dell isn't a dell hard drive - they just assemble the computers, they don't manufacture the parts. Any problem you have with a video card/hard drive/motherboard/etc... isn't a dell problem - its a manufacturer's problem. Talk to Maxtor or Seagate or whoever made the hard drive. [edit - i just realized Syntax said this earlier!]
If you open up the case and touch virtually anything, you DO void your dell warranty (check your license agreement when you purchased it), but unless you have someone come on-site, they won't know. If you do have someone come on site, they probably won't give a shit anyhow. They're very lenient about it, they just have the policy to back themselves up.

just to clarify, they do make their own motherboards and BIOS's. everything else is normal parts.

Re: Dell Products [Archive] - ForumsHQ
My shop has over 5000 dell pcs/laptops. We have very little problems with them, and I upgrade them all the time and do not void the warenty. Dell support is one of the best support I have seen, I order a part and its here within 24 hours, or if a tech needs to be dispatched they are here within 24 hours.
We also buy HP/Compaq and Toshiba's and Dell are far more reliable and support is far suppior than either.
So like Syntax said, I dont know what the hell you are talking about.
P.S. I will be Dell Certified withing the next month, at that time Dell will pay me to repair computers within my company...what other brand does that?
