OK, I picked the Asus A8N-SLI (http://pcworld.pricegrabber.com/search_techspecs.php/masterid=5743662) motherboard. I can get it for $160shipped off ebay!

Trying to find a cpu now. Is the venice core (rev. E) worth it? It's kind of hard to find a good deal on those

no it's not really worth it.. just go with any old Winchester from NewEgg..

the performance difference is very nominal. i hate to say it..

:inlove: nod. i think about that all the time. there are sometimes amazing deals on dell laptops on there but in the comments lots of people say they are going to do that. so if lots of people are going to be doing that at once it's a gamble that people are going to bid high enough on your particular item. unfortunately i don't have $2000 to gamble :).

why did you go for a "SLI" motherboard? are you planning on utilizing or wasting the 2nd PCI Express for Graphics slot? i mean..i thought you were on a budget or something? buying a SLI motherboard and not using both slots is kindof a waste of money.. why would you want a used motherboard from eBay that has no warranty or RMA-ability? newegg has the same motherboard for $15 more brand new.. fully warranted by the reseller for RMA if there is a problem.

i don't like some of your purchasing decisions.. especially the eBay vs New Retail prices.
