QuickSilver BBS is back

For those of you who didnt already know this, my previous version of quicksilver bbs was destroyed in a nice little fire I had in my garage. Due to the server? I dont know. ANYWAYS, I did although get a nice brand new dual 2.8 pentium with 2gigs RAM and a T1 connection out of the insurance claim :)



Quicksilver BBS is back up and running again.

If you do not already know, retromud is currently down and will be at least for another week (at least). Im still trying to figure out what the problem was and why it constantly froze after replacing the ram and harddrive. I will be putting the server on a whole new system soon and I will also be asking a few people (*cough*syntax*cough*) if they know how to setup majorbbs to accept rlogins so that I can put a link to the old bbs directly on the new server.



The new server is running v1.11p-beta13 with all the fixes installed. It is also registered with Turbosentry.net and will be running for a long time. Here are the stats

How do you get around the bbs message, "Sorry... There are too many people calling from your IP!". Wanted to start a 2nd char but that's what I get instead. Looked like 4 accounts from the info, just wanted a 2nd. Thanks.

Sorry that was a mistake on my part. Its actually 1 IP per person. The old BBS was 4 per but that has been changed.

I am still working on RetroMUD. I have actually got the bbs running now in a vmware window. But it is not yet connecting to the BBS via rlogin which I would like it to. If anyone knows how to set this up please let me know. It could be that the codes I have for the dma server arent valid.





Also to anyone whos interested the bbs is still young. Top player is around level 20 so come and make your characters while you still have a chance to get good items.

Alright I have finally got retromud up and running on another computer. WG2.0 on Windows XP should be stable now. Only one way to find out right? Anyways, MajorMUD v1.1d is now an option under the games menu of QuicksilverBBS.
