He is working on trying to retrieve the data so we don't have to reset. Keep your fingers crossed because it's not looking good and I don't want a reset either, at all!!! :-)



I've said it once, and ill say it one more time. Im good at swapping MUD systems from one machine to another and know hwo to do it w/o borking the setup. Im here if you need assistance.

:-) I'm sorry, we did see your post. We have just been having one hell of a bad time. I had an uncle die a couple weeks ago, and one of my aunts just died this morning on top of it all yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of my dads death. (Anniversary doesn't seem to be the right word). Lodin mentioned to me getting in touch when we read your post. Again, I'm sorry, you weren't overlooked. :-)

Thanks for the offer of help. I've got ALOT of experience moving data to a new HD from an older one (the auto update all the time causes alot of damage to HDs). That isn't the problem, the problem is the HD is giving me fits trying to pull the data off of it. If I can get it off there then everything will be good to go. Wish me luck.

If there is damage to your hard drive then you could try to put it in a freezer for about 30 minutes. Take it from the freezer and immediately install it and do a data transfer before it heats back up and starts failing again. I work in the tech industry and have had success with this method on a couple different occasions.

man I haven't used this method in years. The freezer trick works extremly well.

another option is take a ziplok freezer bag, partially fill it with water and lay it flat in the freezer til solid, put a light terry cloth on the harddrive, and lay the frozen bag on the terry cloth, this gets you extra cooling time on the drive.



Get a long ribbon and a power extender and make sure the drive is lying flat outside the case, for extra protection to prevent any water from entering the case.
