I'm 23, I've served in the US Navy for almost 6 years now, most of that time aboard the USS Ohio, SSBN (Submersible Ship Ballistic missile Nuclear powered) 726.
I am a Shellback and member of the Order of the Spanish Main, I've been to all four corners of the United States while in, and lots of other places I can't talk about. I have launched 4 Trident I C4 missiles, if you're curious what those are, do an internet search for them, and you can probably even find videos of their launches and maybe even things you're not supposed to know.
I've seen people with ideals and concepts so bizarre that just their presence could cause fights... and that's just the people I've known in the Navy.

This post is mostly directed towards Raiden, mainly because he tries to categorize Erek and me in the same group. For one, I really do care what people know me like in the mud community Raiden, truly. I care if I am viewed in anything except the most positive, subserveant way in a world of words. Sorry my friend, but most of the mud community could give two shits about "respect" from a few cockhard editors and BBS owners. Do I respect what people like Syntax and others have done? Sure as hell I do, I couldn't do it, and if I did have the ability, I wouldn't put forth the effort. But frankly, I could care less if any of those people liked or respected me. If I wanted respect from these people, I'd do exactly what you do; tuck my dick in and stick up for anyone who might remotely be able to help me in a minor bind and continuely barrage the forums with whines for help and shamelessly plug my BBS over and over again, bumping the hell out of my post which obviously isnt drawing any new users, and bumping won't help. Now this won't be an attack on your BBS, because I do believe you put time and care into it. I am more or less attacking your personal side, because you seem to have a hardon for attacking mine whenever I taunt someone else and they can't do much more than read and shy away. I suggest before further digging yourself deeper and exposing yourself, you honorably back away from this, and take what dignity you have left. I proclaim to be an asshole, but you thrive upon being a problem solver, and all you're doing now is inciting more banter that will only leave your character even more in question. Think of this as a high school setting, you've already slept with a few guys (created flame posts), and you don't want the reputation of becoming a whore (asshole in MMUD world, oh no!). As for being a 'whore'... I already have a reputation to uphold, and it makes me giggle like a giddy school girl when you say I will be viewed as an asshole in the mmud community.
As for creating a 'flame post' ... This wasn't originally intended to flame specifically anyone until later posts.
As for problem solving... Yes... I do enjoy problem solving. I'm the proud owner of a very stable local long distance company, with a wife and 2 younger children. I take lots of pride in my ability to jump in and offer help and/or problem solving. It comes with the territory. Anyone in my position would have to acquire these skills in order to make it day-by-day.
As for 'bumping the hell out of my posts'... Before Boink acquired a nasty sasser worm virii a few weeks ago, Boink was running over 70 lines at any given time during the day, even reaching our bandwidth (which peaks out around 80 lines). So yes Lyki, adverting in forums *does* work... but the needless bumping is why Invisigod/Sephiroth eventually began hosting a specific areas on his forum server for the Boink Machine. So, next time before you are so quick to jump to biased conclusion like this, know the facts.
I take pride in my sysopping and people skills, and it's hotheads like yourself (no offense meant, but that's how it is) and Erek who jump in and begin berating at every chance they get.

They are able to relate to questions we can have at any given point in time, and assist other owners in problem solving, and I try to do the same for them.
And honestly? Why does everyone resort to these 'homosexual' and 'homophobic' comments when they try to insult someone? That tends to take a very personal role, especially for those of us that are proudly married with kids.
