No one likes sports bikes? or just not enough to talk soley about them?



I went on a bit of a binge a few weeks ago and managed to test ride a stack of exotica, all from different places, as after my 30 - 40 minute jaunts they weren't overly impressed, not much they can do though :).



Managed to stretch the legs on:



Duke 999R - not happy Jan, took me days to walk straight again. I guess being 6"2 and 100kg doesnt mix with duke :(



MV Augusta Brutalle and 750s - tidy! bit too small bit damn sexy machinery. Brutalle is a bit like riding a giant fly with wheels.. odd looking beast.



Aprillia Tuono - BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! i dont know what else to say. ride one. naked bike with full spec mille engine.. the most evil v-twin on earth.. except maybee for the TL1000S - but that was actually EVIL, as in, like.. GET OFF DURING CORNERING..NOW evil.



Kwak ZX10R and ZX12R. I had ridden a 12R before and new what to expect. Im not sure what they are called in the US, i think you have Ninja1100 or 1200, which here is the ZZR1100/1200, the ZX is the racer rep, sort of, thing? The 12R is grim. its difficult to ride mainly because of the hardon i get which gets hurt on the fuel tank. Induction roar. tire smoking at 100kph, wheelies + tire smoking at 100kph.. very tidy.

The 10R really surprised me. Kwak have not been up to the job in recent years in terms of building a good litre class.. nowhere near as good as the gixxer thou and R1.. they have totally cracked it now... i think the only way to describe this bike is : SHEER LUNACY. not lunacy as in TL1000S lunacy, just.. LUNACY.. makes the other litres seem a bit like sports tourers IMHO.



I tried to get a run on a Bimota DB12 but the guy wasnt playing ball.. WAA! he must have seen the hard on i was still sporting from the 12R.. doh.



I do own a bike, yes.. i sadly sucumbed to the need for something that i could use as more than a track tool or short run only bike.. sold my R1 in 2002 and got a VFR800 (2001 model, pre v-tec, which is shit anyway).. its nice.. it is actually quite the beast in disguise.. i can keep fairly close track on most of my mates on full sports bikes through twisties, only once speeds start pushing past 200 that the veef starts to suffer a bit of asthma. Have removed the linked brake system, put braided lines on, got a roo racing (west australian company) full race system, replaced the rims with light weight jobbies, power commander to make the most use of the race system and a double bubble. im think i will leave the engine alone. I have no idea why honda dont make more bikes with this engine or similar. Two of the sweetest engines ever to grace a bike: the v4 800 and v4 400.. both are sublime, utterly bulletproof unless modified, and they sound.. well.. not as nice as a twin but shyte loads better than a standard screaming jap 4. services and repairs are fairly nasty, but that aside, they are damn tidy. Now if only i can get my hands on an NR750.

I sent mine to Missouri to have the engine worked on. Too much of a headache for me to mess with old classic like mine.

My Family Rides alot.. They roll out on these huge ass 1100 Yamahas..



My Girlfriends Step Father has two bikes, Both Suzuki's 700-750, Dont know the specs of them but i know he likes them =P

I have a 2003 Roadstar Warrior that I Have customed out all to hell. Before that I had a 97 1000 CBR that I loved I have owned many other bikes in my past. I have been riding since I was 16 and before that I was on dirtbikes or quads pretty much my whole life.



Out of the bikes you listed I would prolly go with the Aprilla if I could afford it. Those are some great bikes!

Every time I've gotten on a bike (got a friend who's into them) I can tell that if I were to make it a regular thing, I'd be HURTIN' for CERTAIN...

There ya go, at least you are one of the few that stay away. I hate 90% of the id10t sport bike riders out there. They are numnuts who think they know what they are doing on a very fast and dangerous bike. They give those of us who ride a bad name.
