Attack messages

So I'm working on making new monsters and havn't had much trouble making them do thier own attacks and assigning the message blocks and such to show what I want. I've just been tryin to copy the basics of what's in the game and only changing what I need but I'm still confused on one part as to the meaning and the help doesn't explain it very well at all.



Line 1 - Room sees on dodge: The %s %s %s with their %s, but %s dodges!

[attacker][swing msg +at][attackee][weapon][attackee]



Line 2 - User sees on miss: The %s %s you with their %s!

[attacker][swing msg +at][weapon]



Line 3 - Room sees on miss: The %s %s %s with their %s!

[attacker][swing msg +at][attackee][weapon]



so we got The (first %s)monstersname and the third one is the targets name. Now where is it sourcing a swing message from? I have an attack that doesn't involve using a weapon so when it misses it would not say anything about swinging anything at the user. I'm pretty sure that the first, second, and third %s you put in the message will always be those three things in that order no matter how you write it so I'm assuming I couldn't just put it how I need it which is with only the attacker name and attackee in it. Or is this just one of those things that has no work around and thus when it misses no one will know what kind of attack just went off unless you try and guess it by the amount of energy it used that round?



I hope what I said is understandable, it's late...er early now and I'm running off little sleep =).



Thanks for any help in advanced, and if it doesn't make sense I can try and explain it differently.







Edit: I copied the basis from another monster and for some reason somethings quite wrong.

Serpentor swings at you with its !

I have a weapon defined for him so I'm not sure why it's doing that.

Black Panther is his defined weapon. Any help would again be appreciated.



Oh and can anyone tell me what message 5000 says, I accidently edited over it awhile ago and I'm not sure what it was and what it went to =).

Line 2 of hit msg is what the rooms sees on a hit. Should be %s rips cuts etc %s for %s damage! (look at orc sentries, adult red, etc)

Line 2 of miss message should be %s %s you with their %s. (swings at would be the second %s)

Dodge looks fine.



Message 5000 isn't in my database. So I can't help you there.
