Soo ... who else thinks we won't have any hockey next year? I heard players are demanding no salary cap and more money, but the owners are demanding salary deductions and caps.

i admit that it's probably one of the more interesting sports to watch, but it seems like it's not supported very much

I don't know man, but I'm HOPING the players aren't THAT fucking greedy. I mean, I was biting my nails all week with the 49ers... the center of their defense, Julian Peterson, was holding out because he wanted a bigger contract than what the 49ers offered him, but finally he told his agents to go ahead and accept the deal, and that they would try to restructure his contract later in the season, and he did this, so he says, because he missed the game and he missed going to practice and 2-a-days and the preseason games. Hopefully the hockey players will do the same thing. Otherwise you're going to end up with one franchise that everyone hates, like the current Evil Empire. Salary caps are a good idea, because it forces underrated, underpaid players to work harder to make their team go all the way, you can just do a Steinbrener and wave around wads of cash to get all the talented players on your team. Some say it'll decrease the amount of talent around the league. I think those people are stupid and should stick to their Olympic Sports Illustrated video of the original Dream Team. Watching young players develop into stars is part of the fun of sports. Anyone remember when Favre was with the Falcons? Or Randall Cunningham's last gasp when he joined the Vikings in '96? How about Jake Delhomme coming out of nowhere, or Terrell Owens stepping out of Jerry Rice's shadow? Teams full of overpaid stars are boring. Half the fun is when the no-name guy on the last line burns the other team on a 2-on-1 breakaway and dekes both "star" defenders, and puts it right in the top shelf stick-side and you have to look at your program to remind yourself who that guy is. THAT is sport.
