getting this error message when someone exits from majormud's main menu and running v1.11p-beta13?
try reading the readme.txt:
1. Back up your wcc*.* files
2. Unzip the files in this zip to your bbs directory, overwriting any existing files.
3. Edit the wccmmud.msg file to include the following:
This option sets the max coin type that will be swept up
with the Coin Sweep option of the offline utilites. Insert into the file the text
between the ===, but not including the ===.
START:
=====================================================================================
COINSWP {Sweep coins of this and lower? GOLD} E USER_DEFINED PLATINUM GOLD SILVER COPPER NONE
Set this option to yes if you want to sweep ganghouses with Coin Sweep
GCOINSW {Sweep coins from gang houses? NO} B
=====================================================================================
END
This should be inserted into the wccmmud.msg file right after
ENABLAWF {Enable the choice of Lawful? NO} B
And before
LEVEL6{}
4. Run an offline recovery
5. Bring the BBS back up
You must be running version 1.11o or higher before installing this beta version.

Re: MESSAGE NUMBER 79 OUT OF RANGE IN WCCMMUD.MCV
a note on this: if you directly edit the wccmmud.msg file with something other than the worldgroup textblock editor, you'll need to open it with that and save, otherwise the wccmmud.mcv file won't be compiled and your system will still crash, possibly causing data corruption. three cheers for metro and their attention to detail!
Re: MESSAGE NUMBER 79 OUT OF RANGE IN WCCMMUD.MCV
Still crashing .. wccmmud.msg has been edited to contain those
And you really cant open a single file through the textblock editor .... ?

i've used notepad every time. did exactly what the readme says (with the exception of step 1) and i've never had a problem.

Re: MESSAGE NUMBER 79 OUT OF RANGE IN WCCMMUD.MCV
hrm, interesting.. that's how it behaved for me anyway, and it stopped crashing after saving it to compile. maybe there's an option setup wrong, but anyway, if people edit the .msg and still find it crashing with the same message, that's most likely the cause.
Re: MESSAGE NUMBER 79 OUT OF RANGE IN WCCMMUD.MCV
i think i may have figured out the issue with this. you don't actually put the lines in with WG's textblock editor (what are you refering to with this anyway?). but after you put them in you just gotta run the wg general setup so it recompiles the files. i always just did this by default after editing the file to make sure the options were there. or i could still be wrong i dunno. but i never had this much trouble.

How did you get it to open using the text block editor? I couldnt find an option in there anywhere. :wahh:
