I would not force it on them no, but if they wanted to smoke it and they where of age I would not stop them.
Maybe me being a MOMMY and not a daddy has something to do with it too. I would be PISSED if my daughter ended up in jail over something as stupid as pot. She is only 1 1/2 years old and I worry about her future... her education. I wonder if she will pick better friends than I did, make better choices about her education than I did. I hope she doesn't waste time, energy, her education, a good job, and money over drugs. Before I had a kid my only thing about drugs were for the people around me.. don't carry it, use it in my presence, or converse with me while under the influence.. what you do on your own time away from me is your own business. But now that I have a kid... I have a stake in her future.. it's up to me to make sure she doesn't fuck up too bad.

I also do not allow illegal drugs around my person in the slightest. I have a child... and I am not going to expose my 1 and a 1/2 year old to it.. and im certainly not going to have my daughter taken away cause some idiot friend/boyfriend of mine wants to alter his/her reality for kicks. The "fun" does not outweigh the risks. And personally, I don't think pot is "fun." Shrug.. my opinion anyway.

OTTAWA (CP) - The federal government is committed to marijuana decriminalization and will reintroduce legislation to make it happen, Prime Minister Paul Martin said in his first statement on the issue since winning re-election.
The Liberal government will bring back a bill that died with the election call and re-table it after Parliament resumes sitting in October, he said Wednesday following a meeting of his new cabinet. "The legislation on marijuana - the decriminalization of minor quantities of marijuana - that legislation will be introduced."
According to the original bill, anyone caught with 15 grams of pot or less would receive a ticket instead of criminal charges. But those caught trafficking more than 15 grams would receive harsher penalties.

Shurg, I did drugs all my life up till the past couple years, now I don't do anything but drink every great once in awhile. But you know what I have a great job get paid great money, got a great education, did my 4 year tour in the military and came out a over all good person. And I did it all while on drugs.

Actually I don't drink caffeine. As for alcohol my BF doesn't drink, and I only drink at bars.. usually with invisigod. I haven't been "out" since before i moved to Alabama and of course that was with invisigod about 5 months ago or something. What i meant by just for kicks.. i meant on a daily basis. I don't think a few drinks a couple times a year constitutes consistently altering my reality. I condone RECREATIONAL use, using alcohol when you need the ocassional break from your hectic life. Once again, my issues are more towards the legality issues.. going to jail for a DUI/DWI, public drunkeness, disorderly conduct, posession, posession with the intent to sell. Cigarettes are bad for you... but at 18 if she wants to smoke 500 packs a week she can.. and nothing legal can happen to her.. smoking isn't going to ruin her education and livelyhood. I.e. she cannot go to jail. And cigarettes are not considered a gateway drug.

But you didn't get caught, jailed/court marshelled, it didn't go on a criminal background check. So sure you CAN get away with it. Just like you can get away with speeding, until either your caught or you don't speed anymore. I am not saying it isn't possible to do those things and come out "right" in the end, I am saying it is a risk that isn't really worth the consequences. I say there are better things to do with your time and money that don't carry the risk of being arrested and possibly jailed. Take up models, don't open the window all the way, get a slight buzz from the glue ;) hehehehe.. finish your model.. and you have done something constructive!

Phew I had to say somethin...Pillman as I am....Yes drug abuse is not cool at all....every drug or medications has its effects and sideys as well....One can get into very hazardous situations.....Vicodin..X...crazy stuff mates...STAY THE HELL AWAY....you don't wann be dead vegetables as you grow...
Sure thing..never have a child if you are not confident of preventing em from becoming potheads...luv em..luv em early and crate bonds whithin that makes it reel difficult for the kids to go on that rotten rds...

I think it's hard to take a yes/no position on drugs.
HOWEVER, it's completely up to the person that wants to do them.
Of course, I think drugs are like religion and sexuality... do whatever/whoever you want, but please keep it to yourself.
You want to be athiest? You want to be devout christian? You want to join a cult? Whatever makes you happy, but don't go out in public with it. That's something that should be personal.
Same as with sexuality, you want to be gay or straight or bi, more power to you. Nothing wrong with any of them, but keep it to yourself. You don't see any "straight-pride parades," do you?
And last but not least, drugs should be handled the same way. Nothing wrong with doing drugs as long as you don't hurt anybody. If you want to hurt yourself, that's your deal. But again, keep it to yourself, or to people who you know share the interest, and don't push it on anybody.
This way, if we never hear about it, you wouldn't even know it's around! And if you don't know it's around, that means it in no way affects you, so there's no need to involve ourselves.
It's kind of like african-americans. The word nigger is a really horrible word, I think, because it's meant to hurt the other person's feelings (damn did that sound pussy or what?). But see that's just a different way of thinking for the two of us... I don't see drugs or sexuality as evil. However, the devil lives in Rome and his name is the Pope. But as for coming to our children, like I said, if they keep it to themselves and don't push it on anyway, not only would it be out of our hair and out of the mainstream, but it would stunt the growth of their subculture and would cease to exist! This is purely hypothetical though because this could never happen. One radical asshole is always gonna come and ruin everything.
