No idea where this came from. Board was all fine and dandy till this morning. Looks like my users got booted at around 830am, but WGS was still running. Usually, I just close and reopen WGS and it's all good. This time, when i go to Start > Programs > WGS > Worldgroup Server, WGSINT.exe has some fatal error and the board, obviously, won't start. If I go to the 'wgserver.exe', I get the Event Log with "WGSERVER.EXE - Access violation. Attempt to read from: ffffffff" (that's 8 f's).



The only thing that may have changed is a new user signing up, but other than that, I haven't changed anything in a few days, and thus a few cleanups.



Any insight is helpful. All my MMud files are backed up. Funny thing of it all is, I was planning on installing a CD burner this week to backup the ENTIRE WGSERV folder just in case. Funny how that happens.

you should start the server with wgsappgo.exe. when exactly do you get the error? did you try running an offline recovery?

Running wgsappgo.exe gives me the wgsint.exe 'illegal operation' bit immediately when I run it.



Do you mean a MMud database recovery, or is there another offline recovery that I don't know about?

yes, a mmud database recovery. though, if you get the error "immediately" it's probably not that. it doesn't do anything at all in between you executing wgsappgo.exe and getting the error? you have tried rebooting right?

Nod - first thing i did was reboot.

Then ran the mmud recovery - still got error.

running the wgsridx right now to see if a data file or something is corrupt. saw it in the offline utils and firgured it'd be worth a shot just in case.
