You cannot call the pistons the next Chicago bulls because they won the championship. Detroit is not going to become a dynasty in basketball. They outplayed the Lakers and deserved to win the championship. I think that they were lucky to have an easier road to the finals because they are in the west. Detroit will not repeat this championship next year.

No its not, ever since Jordan left the Bulls the eastern conference has been the "minor" league of the NBA.



The LAKERS are over rated. The spurs, wolves or even kings would have beaten Detroit.



If the leagues were combined it would be all west coast teams in the semi-finals.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion. I say theres a changing of the guard from the West to the East. You can stick to your West..only time will tell. But to say the spurs, wolves or even kings would have beaten Detroit is.. Well, Irrelevant. It's a hypothetical pipe dream. Who knows who would have won. Everyone thought the Lakers were going to crush Detroit and that didn't happen.

It may be irrelevant, but I believe it is more than simply a "pipe dream", statistically 5 or 6 of the west coast teams would have an advantage based on regular season games for 2003-04. I admit tho, that statement was based more on pride and emotion, rather than logic.



Having said that, I am absolutely estatic that the Lakers lost, no, got creamed by the Pistons. The overall attitude of most of their players makes me sick. Like you said, they were supposed to win, but certainly did not. This is an excellent example of why the NBA is full of "Drama" and is very exciting to watch.



Sigh... Baseball is so boring... Guess I'll look forward to football.

They wouldn't and regaurdless of which team was representing the West it wouldn't of mattered anyway.The way the Pistons played in the finals this year they would have beat anyone.

yeah so the lesson here is that "suffocating defense" and "determination" makes championship.. thats what the pistons had and obviously what the lakers lacked..
