Can't kill Metallic Monstrosity for 3rd good quest

Currently dong my 3rd good quest. Up to killing the Metallic Monstrosity but keep getting a message saying that my weapon has no effect againts tis monstor. Have tried several different weapons and punching but no success. Is there a special weapon to kill him?
