I setup rlogin to the synchronet server, and I simply put the IP of the synchronet server as the syntax, or whatever the option is at the bottom of the module page of wgsrunmt.exe
I'm pretty sure the problem lies in WG though, because on the audit trail, when someone selects rlogin, it displays
RLOGIN CLIENT CONNECT
to 192.168.1.102 with NO*ALIAS
so this means that only one person could go because everyone is sent with NO*ALIAS
anybody know what's happening?
RLogin problem, sends user NO*ALIAS
Re: RLogin problem, sends user NO*ALIAS
if I remember there was something that had to be added to the ip address line for rlogin... its like %username% or something like that... but I don't quite remember
Re: RLogin problem, sends user NO*ALIAS
that's what Evan said too, but i didn't see anything about that in the rlogin help files for WG
Re: RLogin problem, sends user NO*ALIAS
maybe i'll try later to put in, instead of just the IP, what evan said:
l xx.xx.xx.xx %U %U ansi
l xx.xx.xx.xx %U %U ansi
Re: RLogin problem, sends user NO*ALIAS
nono, that's what I said is used for Vircom TCP/IP for WG 2... the rlogin in WG 3 is completely different, as far as i know :(
From the docs you posted on the doormud mb, combined w/ WarHawk's post, looks like you should add options "-a -l %username%" or something like that, or maybe "-a -l %U".
From your posted docs, -a will enable ANSI and -l will let you specify a user name... after -l put whatever control variable WG uses to substitute in a user name.

Re: RLogin problem, sends user NO*ALIAS
and then the IP after %username% ?
Re: RLogin problem, sends user NO*ALIAS
well, it was neither %username% nor %U, because both were sent as literal to the rlogin server
giving it usernames %username% and %U respectively
so all i need is to find the name of that variable

Re: RLogin problem, sends user NO*ALIAS
it should say somewhere else in the WG docs... I don't think those sorts of codes are specific to rlogin, they should be codes usable for any module.
as for whether to put it before or after the IP, I have no idea :(

Re: RLogin problem, sends user NO*ALIAS
after works fine... yea i just need to find that WG variable name...
maybe it was case sensitive and i messed that up?
i'll check some more on the docs
