Spring run 2004 in Laughlin... [Archive] - ForumsHQ
Ok, so I changed my plans and went to Laughlin instead of Vegas for my vacation this last weekend, because there was a spring bike run that I wanted to check out. Quite disappointing how many fucking Hondas I saw; same model, color, chrome accessories all lined up right next to each other "trying" to show off.. A honda is fine, I spose, but goddamnit what happened to the good old American Harley? Out of the few Harleys I did spot, someone even had the GALL to put training wheels on an old panhead - FOR SHAME!!! Anyhow, back from my too-short vacation, and it's good to be back on MMB. ;)

Well for one people are starting to realize that Harleys are over prised...yes they are good bikes but when you can buy one that is faster, sounds better, is cheaper to mod and does not spend near the time on the side of the road or in a shop. If harley don't start changing there ways they are only going to loose more and more business. I have entered my bike in two shows now, one of whitch I won Best in show...the other I won best in my class. I don't know how many harley riders came up to me and said you know what, that just may be my next bike!
If you have not seen my bike here is a link.

My mom's a biker bitch, all her boyfriends / husbands (yes, all meaning many) have been bikers as well, so I guess I'm just a little biased when it comes to Harleys. I admit that yes, the performance of alot of the newer bikes built by overseas companies is better, along with many other aspects, but I'll forever love the Harley.

Dont get me wrong, I love harley, and I love the fact that they are American made! But if they don't start building a better bike and making it where the average joe and afford it they are going to loose alot of customers...they lost me! Next bike I will own will be the hayabusa then after that I will start on my custome chooper. Maybe when I am about 50 I will think about a full dresser!

Brunt, if you want a kick ass bike, you can spend 9 grand and get a used yamaha road star warrior and have one hell of a bike. Go out to yamaha.com (http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/unitinfo/2/mcy/4/60/yamaha_road_star_warrior.aspx) thats the warrior stock, then check out http://rswarrior.com and check out all the shit you can do to it!
