Alright I'm not one to really bash anyone's board, but wtf?!?!
I had a user on my board who will remain nameless. I played a little april fool's joke and gossiped that I was shutting the board down forever in 10 minutes. This guy gets an attitude, tells me I don't need to say the "f word", on MY board, then rolls. yank yank. Didn't like him anyway, don't care if he rolls and quits. He had made it seem like he was an op on White Dragon, specifically by asking me if I liked "his bbs" when I tried it out a few weeks ago. So anyway, he rolls, and logs off. I decide to be a dork and go over to his board and gossip "FUCK" a few times. Don't tell me what to do on my board then leave, or else I have to come to yours to finish the conversation. Anyway, I went back on, and talked to the op, Dragondawn, who claims this other person isn't an op on his board, blah blah, whatever. Dragondawn also claims he is not this other person, and hasn't even been on my board in over a year, yet he played last set, which lasted from Dec 2003-March 2004. Again, whatever. I apologized to him for what I did, and informed him that someone was going around acting like the board was his. Well, he never said anything back to me, which I thought was sort of rude considering I was trying to be nice to him when I found out I was in the wrong. So I gossiped "FUCK" one more time before I got off just to be a bastard. I got my IP banned. That's really lame. :finger1:

The board is so over-edited its silly anyway.. level 200 and odds within a week.. ok.. high levels might be fun, but the monsters drop in one hit, and there is literally no challenge with monsterous AC.. whats the point? i left my char there running for 3 weeks without checking him.. when i realised how long it had been, needless to say, i quit.
Unless you get a kick out of levelling REALLY fast, not having to put any actual time or effort into a char, rolling bosses you cant normally, or if you have a very short attention span.. why bother? For those that are into that sort of thing, they will love the place, very friendly people and a chatty bunch as well.
As for the swearing.. from my memory it is banned on whitedragon, as are "unecessary" insults and all that sort of thing. Its a nice friendly family environment... for those sick of the perpetual abuse and rubbish that some players thrive on dishing out, or who need a less "confronting" atmosphere or whatever, maybee its a good place to play, just remember to roll regularly.

I agree it's an extremely rediculous board, but I'm not gonna trash it. To each their own... after my IP was banned I checked out the site and saw where there was a rule against profanity, but had never noticed it before cuz of the annoying music, so I left the site after 2 seconds. I admitted my wrongness, since there was some confusion on my part as to who's board it was, but... whatever. Best of luck to the op and if this person really isn't affiliated with him, hopefully he'll get the situation worked out. If they are associated, they can both suck my nuts and play on their little board and be level 50 in 10 minutes.

Dude, it was him, he's just not man enough to own up to being a punk. His board is useless, used to be okay, but he can't keep his grubby hands off NMR for more than 15 seconds, so every monster gives you 300 zillion xp, and weapons hit for 10k +... To be fair, it should be pointed out the abusive swearing/being an ass rule has been on the MOTD post on opening screen as one signs on since white dragon started. Haven't been there for a week or so, maybe it got removed, but it was ALWAYS there as far as I know, they wanted younger kids to feel at home in the game too.
The bbs is still fairly new, yep you can level 100 very quick, there are also level 400+ areas *grin* well, okay, one level 400+ area... But for those above posting, it doesn't sound like you put in much time, you never stumbled into the vampire crypt I take it? For all the quick exp and high powered weapons, if you are under level 350, or so, you would get rounded in the vampie crypt area. Level 400+ didn't come all that quickly, despite the high exp mobs.
DD was always trying to improve the bbs, it is not the stock game that was the focus, portals go to every zone and almost all important bosses and after 10min nothing stock is going to really have a chance against any player that found the portals and the pern mall 1 up from the general store. The point seemed more to be building of "other" areas to host high level players in time.
While nothing having a chance though most of the mud and only one high level area that the highest of players couldn't exp in without getting one rounded isn't that great of a final plan, the mud was constantly evolving, or trying too.
It is a little early to judge this mud with the direction it seemed to be heading. If more high level area were created and a direction finally settled on, this could be a pretty good game with time. If I remember right it is under 2months old. Give them some time.

Have you read any post in this thread? I've gone out of my way NOT to put down this board. I haven't played it, and I have no intention to. I APOLOGIZED to DragonDawn. I'm not ripping on his board, or him. As far as his no swearing rule goes, I've only seen it on his site, which I never looked at UNTIL I was banned because of the annoying music, which yeah, I could have turned my speakers off, but then I'd be turning down the mp3's I'm always listening to, and for a board like that, its not worth it. Sorry, my music means more to me than mud. Which leads me to my April Fool's Joke. I've been talking about giving up my board/shutting it down for awhile. MUD no longer holds my interest. It was a simple joke, and this person took it seriously, and rolled. So what. If this board is meant to be aimed toward people who want something above and beyond stock mud, great, like I said earlier, to each their own. I don't get where you think I'm attacking his board, I'm simply saying there's an idiot running around out there acting like its his board, and me being the smartass I am, went there runnin my mouth, and when I was told he had nothing to do with that board, I apologized.

Ripper, WhiteDragon has been up for much more than 2 or 3 months, and has seen more resets than I can count, 3 or 4 of which I was there for. The edits are overpowered and ridiculous, and another reset is due (according to DD) because there are problems with "very high level characters"... heh, go figure... DD doesn't need someone who has supposedly "hidden in the shadows" on MMB until now to defend him, Ripper. Where is he to defend himself, anyhow? Because bottom line, who the hell are you, and where the hell did you get your incorrect information? blah, done with this thread and reading your looooong ass repetitive posts.

I spent plenty of time playing on the board. If you had, what you may have noticed is after approx lvl 120ish the exp required to level no longer increases based on the semi-exponential calculation of the lower levels. The amount of exp i needed to go from lvl 120 - 130, was about the same as 130 - 138 or 139.. so levelling IS easy and fast at high levels.. hence the comment on rerolling often to make it interesting. Maybee it was you that was not roaming or having FUNFUNFUN in the new area's?

I think what you nede to understand, above all else, is that the title of this part of the forums is not "BBS Reviews (nice ones only)", its, BBS Reviews. If the users of a board are annoying, immature, crap, whatever.. and this is the opinion of the person who types here, good on them! let them say it! go read some of the less than nice reviews on sinister. Are you really DD? your post is confused.
Even if it wasnt dragondawn on sinister, i played whitedragon, i played it for some time, like hobo, whether you think DX has a right to "review" the board or not, by your own logic, myself and hobo would appear to have that right, based on your logic.

I spent plenty of time playing on the board. If you had, what you may have noticed is after approx lvl 120ish the exp required to level no longer increases based on the semi-exponential calculation of the lower levels. The amount of exp i needed to go from lvl 120 - 130, was about the same as 130 - 138 or 139.. so levelling IS easy and fast at high levels.. hence the comment on rerolling often to make it interesting. Maybee it was you that was not roaming or having FUNFUNFUN in the new area's?
Was it Dragondawn on Sinister? Does it really matter other than you think it gave you reason to attack his bbs? I know I don't much care, any wanting to roll, over you swearing on your own board should have all the freedom in the world to do so, even comment against you as they like, without having to put up with you trashing there attemts off your BBS, just cause ya got your lil feelings hurt.
Ya don't like white dragon lets hear why... but to not like it, and attemt to cause it to lose players, because you had a spat with a player on sinister bbs is petty on your part and I doubt anyone cares to hear ya whine about it here.
As for what happened on sinister, believe it was Dragondawn, believe it was his evil twin "MiniMe", hell, believe it was Saddam, but next time do all a favor and keep your "poor me" bitch wines out of the review so we can at least feel you give your honest opinions as an "experienced", even though inmature, mud/bbsop your self.

Dxpac wasn't really commenting about play or players on whitedragon. Can he review anyway, hell yes. He is just going to get called on having a personal beef. He was probably even justified being annoyed. But attacking a bbs and an sysop on some other board because of someone on sisister didn't seem really fair.
You and hobo... um, why do you think I never replied really to any other... give info, right or wrong, good or bad, in a fair "I have played there" review and you are on topic.
I have listed the problems with whitedragon in part myself in other forums, it is not the best bbs going, personal attacks though, when you admit you haven't really even cared to play there, because of something that happened elsewhere are not helpful at all to any reader coming to the forum for a review.
As for the personal stuff about me, I just think it is funny, I tease back cause most that seem to want to get personal seldom have any on topic point. Like "well, you are new, you only have 10 posts. DD doesn't need YOU defending him!" So? Still doesn't change the fact that Dxpac had a dork on his system that frustrated him, and he chose to abuse this forum with attempt at personal attack rather than an honest bbs/mud review. They want DD to defend, yet suggest they don't attack him. It is funny it is so obvious the "review" was only about some personal attack toward someone none even were sure was the same same guy.
The rambles about me are funny. I am DD now huh? yeah, okay, what ever. I would love to meet up with some of you on a good PK mud, as paranoid as you all are over something so small "DD is everywhere" I would have the whole board laughing there ass off for months at how easily you were all lead in to out right panic, that I was a stalker, responcible for every death you ever suffered on any mud at any time.
Ah, that would bring back so many found memeries of the good old days on the first metro board having a guy hunting for a month to find the yellow brick road and the devil at the end of it to make a pact with, heheh. What times were to be had before many knew the game, to tell such newbies there is no yellow brick road in MajorMud, and no devil to make a pact with for immortalty and pk bonuses.
