I thought I would drop an FYI for those of you that continue your inquiring about the Boink Machine.



The board is officially offline. I have not the time, nor the connection to commit to it anymore. With a new baby, a son, and a wife to take care of on top of my new job, it's not going to work.



I am considering posting the data files for Boink publicly if anyone is interested in continuing my minor exploits.



Salutations to everyone who committed time and energy to my board. I have never been more inspired in a mudding community then I was within Majormud's.

I highly doubt it will happen, but if it does, you can be certain I will let MMB forums know well ahead of time.

Gads, I always speak last.



I am looking into another 3mb dsl line to run at the house. When and if this happens I will be putting the Boink Machine back online.



We are planning on spending at least a solid week dedicating the staff to working out minor bugs and details before it will be back online.

Board will have a couple new staff members, one of which will be Surge who has agreed to come on board as my co-sysop.



New stats and such that are changed in board information will be posted in a couple weeks.

BoinkMud Update: 11/30/04



FYI: Boink Machine is on its way back up!



The DSL line is being installed Thursday. The board will be offline Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to allow the staff members to sift through all of the data files, and run amok looking for small errors and whatnot.



The board will be freshly reset, with the same data files as when it went offline a few months ago.



New server specs and new additions will be posted in the BBS Links section when the board goes back online.



Not having been able to run the board publicly for the past four months, I am not sure what problems I may run into. I'm not expecting any, but if there will be any unexpected delays, I will let everyone know a.s.a.p.



I am hoping with fresh staff and a fresh realm that Boink Machine will rejuvenate itself, time will tell!



Hope to see you all there... Look for a fresh post with address on Monday and/or Tuesday. Any Q's Please post them here.

**BoinkMud update: 12-6-04



Boink Machine's re-opening will be delayed until this Friday. I am awaiting a new power adapter for the laptop I am going to dedicate to the bbs.



New cable line is up and running, server is running quite fast, so I am expecting no lag this run.

BoinkMud Update: 16-7-04



Boink Machines re-opening is still scheduled for this Friday.



The power adapter for my laptop came today, hooked up the cable, initialized the server and everything is looking fine.



Staff and myself will begin purusing the dats today, tomorrow, and friday to make sure the realm is in good shape before the main domain goes back online Friday evening.



I hope to see everyone there!



IP address will remain the same as last time, new updated information will be posted in BBS Links when the server goes back online.

Jonah and myself began running through the realm today, thus far everything looks fine within the game.



I am encountering problems with my new cable modem/provider however. The modem decides to disconnect every half hour or so and then reconnect, causing users on the system to be disconnected.



I'm going to purchase a brand new cable modem tomorrow, since this one I have currently is leased through Charter and see if that fixes the problem.



I'll still aim for Friday evening to have the board online, however if that changes due to server errors such as above, I will post on MMB.
