question about limited items

scenario:



room is locked in map 1. requires key held by monster 15001. key is a limited item as only one can exist at one time, however the key only has 3 uses.



question:



once the key has been used up, will it regen on the monster it was originally found on?

yes, but only when the key's uses are gone, and then the monster that is presently regenned dies again, and regens again (assuming the key drop rate is 100%)

I wouldn't reccomend doing that..as a matter of fact, it sounds like an EXTREMELY bad idea. There are item hoarders, and people will hoard the key, whether you try to make rules about it or not..trust me...you could simply make the boss that drops the key a long regen time with 100% drop, say every 2-3 days? and of course remove the key limit..that way millions of keys wont be floating around, that is, if the door its used for is worth going into whenever you have the key.



Even if the door leads to something useful, someone will hoard simply so others can't have it, ESPECIALLY a key..
