2 WG's Running
I am interested in setting up a version of 1.0y, but I know that I would use an older version of Worldgroup. My question is: Can you run 2 computers, on a router, with 2 seperate IP's and worldgroup running on each? Has anyone attempted this? I have all the parts to buy a barebone 2nd computer and would really like to set up a network with 2 boards running. Thanks for any info.

well, I think it depends on if the ips are local or not, if they're local, I don't think you're gonna be able to do it, unless you find a way to forward a port from the router (e.g. 22) to a port 21 on the machine that's not getting 21 straight through

all you would need to do is forward two outside ports to the inside port 23's on the WG box's. so you would choose 23 for one, and then some other number (should pick above 500 at least) for the other. you would have to tell people what port to connect on for the second box.

Yeah, I vaguely remember the doc saying he could recompile WG for other ports..or something like that.

that has nothing to do with what hes doing, heh. that's only if you need WG itself to listen on a different port. since he is using a router he can forward any outside port to any inside port. so he'll forward to and then to . the 501 is an example, he can pick any port that isn't being used.
