Why do Sysops play...

oh, and just a wake up to the real world, unless there's a check and balance system on power, whoever that has the power and abuses it, gets away with it.



players don't usually count as the check system in there, it usually has to be someone respected (not saying that all players aren't respected)

who are you saying should decide the rules? any noobie ass sysop who comes along? I think that if the mudders, the people who ACTUALLY keep it alive, are the ones with the decision, it would run much more effective, and much smoother. American Leaders discovered this about 300 years ago. You say the game is a dictatorship and not a diplomacy. You are correct, but I need to ask you a question, does that make it right? I think that majormud would be much more popular if some of the sysops these days stopped going power trippy, and made a fair game for everyone. and, just a side note, go read my first or second post in this thread, I said, if you want to cheat and shit, EXPECT COMPLAINING, or, open a PRIVATE BBS not a public one. The public users arent about to kiss the sysops ass to play on his bbs.

Shrug, there are plenty of good boards out there, that were run very well (not saying that urge isn't never played there) but again I state, if you are so pissy with it, make your own and outshine the others. It's as simple as that. Take the step up and be an example as opposed to bitching about it.

Ohh i definatly cheat I mean i was #1 last set #1 two sets ago #3 the set before that, Ive read the site more then edge i can garuntee and know more about the bosses and areas the edge or ponderance. Is this because i have ops or that ive spent more time playing and reading then most people spend doing anything else. Call me a loser with no life ill agree to that but dont say i cheat beacause i know alot about a board that ive played for almost 2 years. Yes i know that he beast of vision is a 4 day 4 hour regen and if you can survive his cronies you can take him. As far as checking boss times the majority of that i do

is done via telepath about beholder and if i were the first person to kill a boss i would know the next time he were home. You can ask me about any boss you like if you dont wear plate i cant tell you. Ohh yea and i hoard items that are level 150 and useless for another year. Ohh and bas yea i am too lasy to lag out my computer with endless @home telepaths this reply alone took me over a half hour to compleat becauese my comp is crap and half the time crashes with just mega running 1 mega and nothing else. I love sin allways have lag or not and ill play there as long as i play mud and could care what people think of me edge or the board. I have a server ready for it when edge is done running it so anyone who likes it as i do can continue playing. My two cents and nothing more I dont play mudrev so i cant say anytihng about it.

I have this strange feeling but if you were number 1 on Edges board you wouldnt be saying 1 bad word about it. What gives you the right to bitch about a board you in which you not have/had



A) Sent a single penny to help edge keep his bbs alive

B) Helped create and implement patches and or mods to the realm.

C) Helped create a webpage to better assist the users in playing the game.



Really you cant complain about anyones bbs because its thiers. If you want a "fair and just" bbs set one up yourself. Its not like the materials arent readily available with just a bit of know-how. You pay for the highspeed internet and computer to support a bbs and then you can bitch and whine and complain as much as you want too. Youll be a SYSOP of your own new shiny realm. You can even download Nightmare for FREE (thank god syn hasnt ever charged for it) and make your own realm to fit whatever is inside your head.



Most of the guys that are running the bbs's are ignoring your whiny 11 year old ass because your making yourself look like a jackass. Its thier bbs and they can run it however they feel fit and they get a userbase dependent on how they run the board. If people dont like it the board usually shuts down or changes his ways. I dont know an exact count but I can bet there is about 40 people logged on edges board right now and they dont seem to mind. Im sure there is equally if not more people logged onto lunar or OMC right now. You think one person bitching is going to make a difference especially when you really truly cant justify your griping. Even -IF- edge DOES cheat im sure hes not going to make it plain as day. Your badmouthing the same people that sit here and keep this forum board alive by offering help and advice for free to people that ask for it.

And for further clarification I do not always enjoy a high seat of power. I had a bbs and I shut it down about a year ago because I was tired of the maintanence involved. I play as a normal user on a few bbs's. I know the time that all the good bbs's sysops put into making the board a cool edited place. It takes a long time and alot of patience. Until you experience that amount of time and patience Id suggest you shut up and play. If you dont like it then dont play. Its that simple.
