no port 23

Post by PeterParker »

I am hoping someone can help me. I am on a wireless internet connection (the only broadband when you're in the boonies), and my isp has port 23 permanently blocked. I have winroute, have been using it but it has turned stupid. If someone logged onto my sytem they got to the login screen and it froze them out. It was working fine btw, just started doing this for no reason. So I uninstalled winroute, then reinstalled it. Now it keeps stopping the winroute engine.

I am wondering if there is a better way to redirect a port to port 23 so I can run my mud. I can't put in a router because the wireless card is internal.

HELP!!!

if you had a POS machine you could put the wireless card and a another network card in it and connect it to a router. set up the machine to just forward all the packets. be best to use a linux machine to do it, though i dont know how hard it would be to setup your wireless card with linux.

I have the source code to worldgroup 3.2

I can make you a custom telnet server modual for any port you want.

Thanx for the offer. However, I found out what my prob is, my POS ISP has decided to put a filter on ALL incoming traffic. In other words, no bbs with my current ISP. Which is good in a way, it gives me lots of downtime (my cable co is supposed to have cable modem in a month or two) so I can do some more edits. Then when it is done I will go public.
