name ur computer, and put it in the wg wizzard. Then just telnet to computer.

Alright, I opened up telnet and tried to connect to both my IP and 127.0.0.1. Neither one worked, but I think it has something to do with the regtcpsvr line. Any suggestions?
did you check that AUTO ip address setting after reinstalling?

Nope, I just put in my IP as it shows up. How would I change that after the fact?

i'm not sure if the local loopback address (127.x) will work if WG is set to bind to some other address. you may need to set your IP address to AUTO in the general setup under "TCP/IP Settings"

Alright, I set up the AUTO IP in the wizard. I get past the audit trail, but now I get this error: BTREIVE OPEN ERROR 86 ON FILE "galfilk2.dat" As far as I can tell from what I read online, this has something to do with opening too many files. Any ideas?

Alright, I set up the AUTO IP in the wizard. I get past the audit trail, but now I get this error: BTREIVE OPEN ERROR 86 ON FILE "galfilk2.dat" As far as I can tell from what I read online, this has something to do with opening too many files. Any ideas?
Ok, I fixed the Btrieve error, but now I'm back to the init_webd-regtcpsvr failed error again. I've gone into the wizard and made the IP Auto, but I'm still getting the error. I still can't connect using 127.0.0.1 either. I'm looking at the WG Hardware setup right now, and I see I have nothing assigned to the Channel groups. Is that alright?

set the first group to tcp/ip, start channel 1, 250 channels. the setup should have done this for you though. when you reinstalled, did you install right over top of the original one? if so, it probably didn't do everything it should have. if you did uninstall first, you may need to delete the install and registry settings manually after you uninstall. i would try the channel groupings first though.

Ok, I did that and everything looks fine. The audit trail says this:
Server Up, Allocating Buffers etc, Buffers allocated etc, MM found database update, No news server, WL: TCP/IP layer - Located the Galacticomm ICO. It stays here and no other messages pop up, but I still can't connect. I'm trying to connect with both my IP and 127.0.0.1 but nothing's happening. If I try it in megamud it says network is unreachable. I've even gone to dyndns.org and registered for a static address for my board, but I can't connect to that either. I've even tried using my roomate's computer, which is on the same network, but he can't connect either. This happens whether I use auto or my actual IP, but when I try to use the IP that www.whatismyip.com and dyndns.org show, a 206.55 ip, WG log says it's different then windows TCP/IP setting. As it is now, the default that WG wants me to use is the IP that I need to connect to for my proxy, the 192.168 one. This is also the IP that winipcfg shows. I've tried auto, this isn't working...and as far as IPs go should I use my individual computer's IP or the college's proxy IP? Also, my friend outside the network can't connect, but that is to be expected with the proxy FW. I really couldn't care less if people outside the proxy can join, I just want to be able to join the server I'm running on my computer. :)
