A night mare problem [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by Pantharen »

Ok I downloaded and ran 1.42 and when it went looking for my dat files it told me all the wcc*.dat files were missing or corrupt. So I thought the problem was nightmare 1.42 and WG 3:20 & MMUD 1.11n so I uninstalled it, and installed 1.4 and got the exact same problem. (which I didn't have the last time I ran Nightmare)

Unlike the other nightmare problem, I brought pictures.

when you reinstalled nightmare, it prolly went back to default dat folder settings. (c:\program files\nightmare redux). make sure you have it pointed at the correct folder with your dats in them.

youll hafta open NMR, click ok until it finally loads, set it to the correct folder and dat version, save and exit. once you open it again, it should load fine.

Not possible, unless it can recover it's self from a zero'd out drive. I wiped the drive and installed windows xp, So there was no other files. I ran nightmare months ago under windows ME.

Grin, Ok I feel like an idiot now.

Thank you  Syntax for pointing out, that it was looking at the wrong harddrive.

I have windowsME on c: still but there is nothing on it really, but a few programs I use that require windows 9x, which is why XP is on D: I didn't even look at where Nightmare was looking at. DOH!

I feel like a :loser: now :wahh:

all of your error messages say "C:\yada yada yada" but the file listing you show shows them on the D: drive. so like the error messages says, goto file --> settings and set your dat file path.

edit: try switching the drive letter in the settings, and then switching it back to D:. it looks like in your one capture that you are viewing c:\ but it says d:\ for the drive.
