A lot of changes in vB3 eh?

So far I'm liking the many changes I see...

Working on:

- recent post script

- getting the colors right again...

I have to click a button to active quick reply, hence, it is not quick reply. Looks good though, give it a week and I'll forget about the last one.

I don't think it's that bad..I actually like how things look, wish quotes could look a TAD more defined/recognizeable, but other than that, I think it looks a lot more professional. I like how user info is center-aligned when you post and shit..

Give da-man time to get things reimported. Working on a Message Board takes a hella lot of time and patience, one wrong code line could blitz the board. Be patient. :gleam:

i just found an option in the user cp to have the thread view "linear - newest first". i'm liking it so far. it lists the threads in backwards order, making the last post the first item and going down.

Probably should've posted this earlier since I knew it would be an issue, but you have to "activate" quick reply for a reason. It can be turned off, but I think it's better with it on.

Require Click for Quick Reply

If you set this option to 'no', users will not have to click the Quick Reply icon in order to type a message in the quick reply box.

However, this will be at the expense of the usefulness of the Threaded and Hybrid view modes, as the system will not know to which post a user is replying, so the threaded view will become non-sensical.

Set this option to 'no' at your own discretion.

Also, there will be little or no code hacking at this point. Since this is in beta, I'm not going to waste time hacking code only to have to re-do it a week or two later when a new version comes out.

it's a board wide option, not a personal option. if you dont specify who you are replying to, then the threading becomes useless. it makes sense to leave it the way it is (if we want to enable threading). clicking a button is no big deal (it doesn't refresh the whole page or anything).
