Hard Drive Question [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Ok so windows locked up on me (i run Xp Pro) and i have 3 hard drives hooked to it.



It tells me my Fat32 drive needs to be error checked and it starts running the check. It gets done then locks up again at the finished screen. I have to power off reboot (i waited 45 minutes for this thing, hoping it was just doing something else) and when i come back in, it now tells me my Fat 32 drive is Unformatted and needs to be formatted to be accessed. This was once a main drive of mine and has some stuff i actualy need to keep. Does anyone know how i can get windows to fix the problem or what i can do to fix the problem with out formatting because id like to keep this data.

Pop the fat32 into a 2k box and retrieve the nfo off of it...

Ok. Can you tell me the process for doing that. i got a friend with a 2k box. And by get the nfo off it, do you mean copy over the shit or is there a way i can set it so XP can see it again?

I would just burn the nfo u need off of it and format the drive ntfs.

alright. Thanks man, i was starting to freak and think i couldnt get my shit back..... 10 gigs is gonna take alot of CD's but the data's worth it

10GBS worth of CD's is cheap :)... hours of getting the stuff again.... not so cheap... plus think... thats 10gbs of hard drive space that you don't have to take up anymore... its all on CD!

Thats true. THat was my Mp3/Back up directory. The shit backed up cannot be lost, but if its on CD i dont gotta worry so much
