Having slight problem with setting up WG server please help:)

Ok i have WG 3.3 running on Winxp pro,my connection is DSL through bellsouth it is connected to a gateway/router/firewall thing...now i have DMZ'ed the computer so firewall is disable so far as i know it gives me a public ip.. but no one can seem to telnet/log in to my server... i also setup a no-ip account still no go... really getting frustrated with it .. this is my last hope:)

:wstupid: You have to disable any and all firewalls.



XP {control panel, network settings go threw your connections looking for anything related to a firewall and remove}

Third Party {Mcaffee/Norton Firewall}

DSL/PORTAL/ROUTER SETTINGS

What kind of router?



Are you forwarding port 23 (the telnet port) to your WG server through the router? It will just stop right at the router otherwise, since it doesn't know where to route the incoming connections. If you don't know how to forward ports, just post again and myself or whoever else is on at the time can walk you through it.

I always found with my router I go through more excedrin than I would otherwise...



I didn't realize how many games I play online need to be set up special style in the router config...

Ok i got it work now...now there is a problem with editing :) something is corrupting DB when i edit classes/race ... if it isnt one god damn thing it's another:) Thanks guys

Always keep backups. My suggestion, instead of going through a headache, is to restore a backup, or an original copy. Corrupted databases are a bitch, and most of them are unretrievable.
