i was referring him saying that he took it all apart and put it back together and it wont turn on. the floppy drive power cable aligned wrong will do that.

yeah that blaster worm is still floating around tho so he could of picked it up and not noticed it till he rebooted then he started having these probs

if the vid card went boom you would have no picture period it wouldn't just boot then reboot

could also be dying memory..





If you cant figure out wtf is wrong, then i suggest you take everything out but the essential stuff (memory, keyboard, video etc). Then slowly add one thing in till you hopefully get the error

Well we just spent the past 5 hours replacing everything with a WORKING one from another pc. Video card, cpu, power supply, etc. Nothing worked. Only thing we didn't swap was the motherboard, so we're guessing it's fried. As I type this, I'm looking across the room at my mom's laptop, and it just rebooted itself. :) Oh well, that's her problem, not mine.

You know theres like 2 viruses going around that randomly reboot your pc, right?

Yea but they dont fry motherboards. But he was using a Gigabyte board so i wouldnt be surprised if its dead.
