try this.. create the spell with the magery set at None and 0 (as seen in spell combat fury #314). that means ANY class can use it.. if you get good at text blocks, you could make an NPC that has a list of spells (something like the dude in that roams in the swamp selling dwarven axes) and make it so only wizards can buy them

Heh..that's a bit complicated. The NONE idea is good, however all you would have to do to restrict it is restrict the scroll that teaches the spell..in this sense, you can use any mage/druid/priest, the only thing is you would have to class-restrict all the current scrolls..in that sense, you're better off using the "None" that Delete suggested.

still one prob... the char has to have mana... only way to get some is to do what i said orignally... one thing that would eliminate tho is flagging all the damn scrolls (of whatever type u chose) so the new class cant use em... but adding spells would be a bit tougher (cant just add a scroll to a shop)

The only problem with restricting the spells to certain class's is that some class's can still use them, if you get what im saying. I made the mage line of spells for mage/warlock and gypsy only. But after I did that, some of the class's couldnt use the spells that they were set to. And my new class it said it could use the spell, even though it was restricted.

instead, just have the NPC teach them the spell for a fee instead of giving a scroll (avoids the flagging in that case and a scroll wandering around) and you can just check the class in a textblock

Don't forget to give the class mage/priest-1/2/3, depending on what you want the casting stat to be and how much mana/level and regen you want them to have. Only problem with this is that you'll have to go thru all the existing scrolls/spells in the game and limit them to the current classes so the new class wouldn't get a double spellbook.

could you explain this better? this sounds like just an editing problem/misunderstanding.

the idea of just restricting the scrolls to whichever class and then giving the class either (mage/druid/priest)-(1/2/3), depending on how much mana and mana regen you wanted them to have, seems fine to me. really the character would never know that it was technicaly "priest-3" while casting your new lava giant spell or whatever. that is, unless i'm forgetting about something.
