editing races and classes causes database corruption (1.11m) [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by blaze drugs »

I can basically edit anything I want, I'm using the newest version of Nightmare and I'm editing 1.11m. Right when I touch a race or class I get that notorious database corruption message at the console... I've read the posts with why this happens, but those are relating to older versions of mmud....any information about this would be appreciated... you can even private message me about this....

thanks

your mud dll is checking various aspects of records and noticing that stuff has changed. basicly the dll checks for editing and if it sees something edited it says that there is corruption and then tries to run the update file to fix it. you're using a unpatched/bad-patched dll. there is a dll patch out there that some hacking group cracked (who probably had no idea what majormud even was) that doesn't have nearly the amount of hacks that are needed for an edited realm to run smoothly.

p.s. no, i/we do not know where you can get a good one and don't ask for it here.

if everyone will be allowed to play mud then you can just clear the keys required to play. so under WG --> utilities --> Security & Accounting --> MajorMUD -->

PLAYKEY

SAVEKEY

NODMOKEY

NOKICKEY

NOPAYKEY

can all be cleared. having no key specified means no key required.

actually its right when I enable C.o.n.t.r.o.l., I cant find ANY setting that changes it. When control is enabled, only perm sysops can see globals or enter MUD :arghh:
