I used to use those visual editors, like pagemill (back in the day) but once I learned how to write the shit on my own, I use notepad all the time.

The reason i dont like notepad is cause i view my text files in different fonts and it's a pain to keep switching.. i like editplus because it keeps the same small font i like plus it automatically makes backups when i make changes and save.. much easier than renaming and doing everythign manually.. call me lazy, but after staring at text strings for a few hours every little step you dont have to do is a help heh..

oh god.
How about using VIM? And if you bitch about it being too hard, you should be shot in the face. In. The. Face.
It does your colour coding.
Or how about Emacs?
Using a Visual Editor is for tools unless you're coding VB or Java frontends.
And notepad is for tools. You *need* line numbers, no matter who you are.
Just my thoughts...

A good program for scripting is PrimalScript. Depending on the language it uses color for the important stuff. And it does alot of languages, and you cna even add your own.
