Hey syn, are any of KMFDM's recent albums any good? I used to be a big fan of them back in the day, but stopped buying their stuff when they got rid of gunter, en ecsh, and raymond watts... any of their new albums live up to the old ones?

I'm equally curious about recent albums by Robert Miles (Dreamland rocked in a cheese-trance kinda way, never bought any of his newer ones tho) and newer mixes by LTJ (he rocks live and the original mid-90s Logical Progression is a classic, but I haven't bought any of his newer mixes)... any album picks would be appreciated :)

i'm pretty much in the same boat as you. i don't think i've listened to any of the new KMFDM's. i actually only got into nihil, symbols, and adios of theirs anyway. i didn't listen to enough MDFMK to make a good judgement and I honestly forgot that KMFDM had new stuff out. dreamland is also the album i have but i've heard a lot of singles here and there and they always cool. and as for LTJ, progression sessions vol.3 is what i'm most familiar with and it rocks.

PVD, chicane, christopher laurence, linkin park, -most- eminem, metallica (black album and older), alice in chains, marilyn manson, tool, fuckin s-n-double-o-p-d-o-double-g ya see, dr. dre, ja rule, robert miles, ak1200, LTJ bukem, KMFDM, ministry. uh yeah, that pretty much covers it :)

right now: i usally change my genre of music every few days so it's a tossup between linkin park and christopher laurence for right now.

you know, i read this without looking at the poster and thought, "holy shit, we like a lot of the same stuff!" figures it's the kid i grew up with.

as for the new ltj and robert miles, they're both absolutely incredible. then again, i like messed up stuff (re: adiemus). the newer ltj (w/ or w/o bukem) is still the same style, but newer robert miles is less and less "children" and more and more euphoric and idealistic non-standard trance... check it out if you like different music... i love it.

oh and for those who care, chicane is coming out with a new CD "soon" -- i.e. was supposed to be out already but was delayed.
