some places tend to be less professional and/or less private. you use a password on there and bam they have your password for everything. that's NOT a good idea
Well, yes...but if you use the same account info for each one, then it's not as if it's hard to remember. And "tired of making accounts" is sort of a cop-out. It isnt any harder to MAKE an account on my forum than it is to log in to my forum, or any other forum for that matter. Enter a username, and a password, and an email addy. That is true, I don't use the same pw on things where I actually have my personal information, credit card numbers, or other shit that people can use, but for forums and email and such I tend to use one of two passwords. Neither has any numbers or anything in it, and would be really simple for someone to hack or whatever if they felt so inclined, and I wouldn't give a DAMN if it did happen. I'm not bothered by much that goes on on the internet.

1) it isn't really an ad, if someone posts a link to the Mudcentral forums, that isn't considered an advertisement.
2) as do most forums, and many web sites.
3) yes, i went on a tirade because people being hypocritical bothers me.

The people who run mudcentral don't come here and post "Hey check out this cool meaningless post we got on here."
The whole thing seemed more like a ploy to get users, especially how you went off on the whole "registering" deal. You make too many assumptions. For example, how are people supposed to know how "easy" it is to register on your site? Is email verification involved? It's a hassle for some people. Why should we waste 5 minutes going to hotmail and creating a fake email account just so we can register on your site.
