Holiday Chilli (iNViSiGOD Style)

Post by iNViSiGOD »

Makes a great Warmer for New Years Parties and easy to make.

(Feel free to add or omit ingredients) Serving Based on an Average size crock pot. NOTE: This makes Chilli not that soupy crap.

Ingredients:

1 Whole Vedelia Onoin (incorrect spelling?)

1/2 Fresh Garlic Clove (substitute with 2 Table spoons minced garlic)

1-2lbs 80% Lean Ground Beef (Substitute with Tofu if you like)

2 Cans traditional Red Beans

2 1/2 - 3 Cans tomato paste (for consistancy)

1 Can fresh chopped tomato (or 1 fresh chopped tomato garden style)

2-4 Garden or fresh store bought Jalepenos (Can substitute with anything from green pepper - Thai Sun Habenyeros, my fav.)

2 Cans Mushrooms (Traditional, Portabellas, Shitake's)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Chop up the veggies and make sure the ground beef/tofu is defrosted and put it all into on big bowl. Mince if you prefer.

Break out the frying pan and make sure to coat it with something along the lines of like Virgin Olive oil (just a little) to keep the vegies from sticking. Heat it on low till you can see its warm enuff.

Get the crock pot going or whatever you use and dump the canned tomatos in (water and all) and set it to simmer.

Now throw the veggies in the frying pan for about 5 min so all the flavors blend in. Then add the ground beef/tofu in with it so it soaks up the flavor of the veggies. Let sit till beef is brown all the way thru, make sure to stir occasionally.

Once this is complete add in the garlic and pour entire contents into the crock pot (DO NOT DRAIN THE BEEF GREASE, this adds to the flavor) and stir in. Let sit for one hour then add tomato paste till you find the right consistancy.

Let sit for another 1 1/2 hours to soak up all the flavoring then add a table spoon of salt and let simmer another 15 min. Serve with pasta noodles and sprinkle on cheese if you like

VIOLA! Perfect holiday chilli!

Wow, on top of the fact that it's spicy and I hate spicy foods, half the ingridients are on my "ick" list as well.
