No, by default a room can hold 17 visable items and 15 hidden items. However apparently items with -1 uses can be stacked so that 50 of them only counts as 1 item rather than 50 like it would if they had uses. Stupid, isn't it?
This also explains another thing I'd been wondering about-- lunar chainmail crap doesn't stack, and now that we're aware of it, if you look at 90% of the lunar chainmail gear, it's all set to 0 uses instead of -1 (0 being basically the same as -1, except since it's 0, it doesn't stack). Only lunar chain gauntlets are flagged with -1.

As a side note, I think the byte that determines whether an item affects you while in your inventory is the byte past the robbable byte. It's boolean, 00 = affects even while in inventory (not eq'd), 01 = affects only while worn/eq'd. This was the only thing I could find to differentiate the various skiff items from regular items.
Hrm. Did you try altering it? I always just figured that if an item was unequipable then it would automatically work while unequipped. What cemented my belief in that is the elphinstones on Sinister Urge. Chances are pretty slim that Dxpac was copying a skiff when he made those, and I never heard him complain about having trouble getting them working.
Oh well, cool, testing this gives me something else to do while I wait for my paladin to hit 50 in the same manner that Frost anxiously awaits the daterape drug to take effect on his latest victim.

LOL
Well, it's possible you're right. If it's not that they're un-equippable, the other possibility is that the item type (in this case, 'General'), forces abilities to affect the holder of the item while not eq'd. AFAIK no other 'General' type items has anything beyond Del@Maint and maybe a few other flags that you wouldn't notice while carrying the item (Loyal, etc).
I know that NMR uses the flag I'm suggesting as AffectsInInv for something else (Gettable I think), so I'm not 100% sure (and if it tests out as being gettable rather than what I've theorized it is, it'd be nice to have concrete proof). =)

Ah ok, thought so..

Yeah, I changed a bone necklace to +100 hp and set it as "special," worn "nowhere" and it worked when being held.

Or something with unlimited uses, like silverwood & dragonclaw staff. They took away sys edit/conj/tel?

Yeah. I heard they took out all the hidden sys commands in a final release of 1.11i. The "1.11i" dll floating around is supposedly really a modified h dll. I don't know for sure though, I'm dumb when it comes to the dll.

I don't think they took it out...
Solely because the give out "non-existant" items on their BBS, such as manastones, staff of power, etc. Or so I heard, though they come at a hefty price, it's still bullshit if ya ask me...
There is a 1.11i DLL that has conjure, tele, etc on it. It's not the 1.11h DLL - I repeat, NOT the 1.11h DLL..they lied. *surprise!*

Thats part of the reason that no "mods" have gone into the making in our community. The 1.11i DLL is cracked down to everything except max monsters I believe..

They could very well be using a different dll than the one they distribute, too.
