Nice program [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by Tsunami »

Howdy.. just loaded up this Nightmare Redux program and wanna say good job, it's really neato ;) Haven't given it a thorough testing yet, like i can't seem to find the spell formulas and such.. but I like it. If you have any unknown variables you can point me to I might be able to help, otherwise thanks for creating such a nice program :)

PS - Looking forward to a version with 1.11j exp multiplier in ;)

I had a nice long post for you, but I accidentally clicked reset form instead of submit reply, so screw it. Was just gonna let you know that all that stuff is on other boards, like Lunar has had Saiyans for a while (except Seph spelled them wrong... grin)

thanks ... yeah there is stuff you can look for. I made hex maps that are posted on mudhex. anything that has 0000 or ???? is unknown. they are probably very minor things that dont really matter .... but if the data is there i'd like to know what it is and make it editable by nightmare. (i can't just make it all editable because you need to know how many bytes of data are for which pieces of information).

the biggest thing I can think of that I wanted to look for but haven't gotten around to is monster item drop info. I'm sure somewhere, probably in the monster file, it stores how much of a particular item has been dropped. i'd like to find that info and put it into NMR.

hex maps (http://hexedit.morbidfascinations.org/hex_maps/index.htm) (look under mod 9)

Hex mapping.. yick, this is annoying.. I've never tried anything like this before. My first discovery, which you've probably already found, is that your first ?? unknown variable in monsters is multiplied by the exp field in 1.11j to make exp greater than 65k :)

ehhh, you sure about that? there would be absolutely no reason for it to be like that since the data type in the monster dat for a monster is an unsigned long integer value (meaning that it can have a value from 0 to 4,294,967,295).

I believe the number between MR and EXP is backstab defense, and I think the ?? unknown after 'talk text' is charm resistance.

Yeah but they only left so much room for exp so that field only goes up to 65k, they woulda had to either move it or do what they did, multiply it by the field i mentioned.
