I think that's what keeps everyone interested in Majormud. It would be a dead game right now if it weren't for Megamud. I sure wouldn't be playing.
I understand that not everyone has time, neither do I. I just like the game itself, and want to offer it to people that have a little extra time. Leveling isn't a big issue. There's 56 max levels, at which time you can remort. I believe you can remort into better races/classes, but don't hold me to that. If you can't, I'll make it so you can. Remorting brings you to lvl 1, gives you bonuses to your stats and stuff, you get to keep your items. Remorting costs money, killpoints, and warpoints. After I remember how to get all that, I'll let everyone know. Most Emlen muds have 6 remorts. Well, you can remort 5 times and get to lvl 56 6 times. If you want to level quick, you are going to have to get a party together. I saw on Rites of Passage a little excerpt about exp. At about lvl 40, you can get about 1 million exp/hr solo. With a balanced group of 4-6, you can get over 6 million exp/hr. Groups are important.
How about a change?
Re: How about a change?
I'll play. I've just gotten into internet MUDs a couple months ago. But it doesn't sound like there will be much PvP with 30 players in a realm the size of MajorMud :)
Re: How about a change?
Reck, The only link I have links to Rites of Passage Mud, it gives a basic overview but has a lot of stuff that is RoP-only and would only serve to confuse people further. Do a search for Emlen Mud on google and you'll pop up a bunch of sites, but nothing really explains the game. -edit- RoP is currently closed and a lot of their info is blank. -/edit-
Tsunami, the game size depends on how many of these areas I can get ported. I've got a shitload of areas that would be nice to have, but if I can't get them in, I have to make the areas all myself. That will suck. I'm planning on adding areas as time progresses, I just really don't want to have to create a realm of 20k rooms by myself. Thirty players is what I am aiming for. I would LOVE to have 100+, but I don't see that happening unless I get advertising elsewhere. I'll be putting a link up on mudconnector, but other than that I have no idea. We'll see how it goes.

Re: How about a change?
Visit http://www.fatemud.com for a game that is currently running Emlen code. Not EVERYTHING in Fatemud will be in my code, since I have the basic source code w/o the additions they may have made. Visit their Messageboards and check out the Death caps for a look at how the game plays. Check it out, see how involved the combat is.
Re: How about a change?
they should do a link exchange with us!
but I saw no email

Re: How about a change?
You could probably connect to the game and leave them a note, but I dunno if they will like the fact that I'm going to steal a shitload of their ideas.
Re: How about a change?
lol.....I have already made an account, playing there now
Re: How about a change?
grin, I probably just plugged a game that's going to get more response from MMB than my own.
Re: How about a change?
prolly...the game is kinda wierd, plus on my telnet window I could not see what I was typing + I did not know what I was doing..
