cheap my ass, we're still lookin at $80-100 that i'd like to spend elsewhere

Well if you want cheap go with one PC with two NICs and a switch... that's a poor mans network. A router has a few advantages though... such as port forwarding and the fact that you don't have to make sure that the PC that shares the connection is always running.

2-port linksys router will run you $40 or so and a hub is cheap....run the cable through the router and plug the hub into the router....very easy and simple, as well as cheap.

shrug, mine only cost about $50 ... www.mwave.com. everything i have i bought off them and built myself... less than $600

I love the security a router offers plus it has options disable the firewall, port forwarding, anti virus with the router..etc

i ended up goin with a 4 port router, cause we got a 3rd computer on it. works fine... well a problem routing ports, but i think invisigod is helpin me with that (RESPOND to my IMs INVISIGOD!)
