Mod 9 Major (Arlysia) is map 17.

Just go to like mith mines..create an exit up, then when it asks map # and room #, make it 18..?

No, I'm fairly positive you can't go over 17 (16 for pre-mod 9). It's just the way it's made. You have to use some higher numbers within the existing maps or delete crap from them.

I have heard from some people that it IS possible, but wouldn't know how. I know for a fact though that making Map 99 doesn't work, because I've tried that myself when I first set my board up.

I've been using map 666 and it works so far. Only problem is

when you try to enter from say a room in baseline or mod 9 or lower then it screws up but if you just need map for a test area it works fine.

All I did was go to the room editor and hit copy to new and put in the map/room number and started from there.

Will it work fine if say, I have an item that when used teleports you there? Would that work fine for a BBS?? Just as long as you don't walk into the new map number from a current existing map, right?

I'm still in the process of testing the high number maps at the moment. Currently I’m still getting mixed results. I'm starting to get the feeling that it just won't work but I'm not ready to give up on it yet. At worst maybe someone can talk someone into making a nop crack that bypasses the check.

Here is my list so far:

Tested:

Walking Movement: room to room on the same map.......works

Walking Movement: Map 1-17 to high# map....................failed

Spell movement: from high# map to map 1-17................works

Spell movement: Map 1-17 to high# map via spell...........failed

Not tested:

Walking Movement: from high# map to map 1-17

Walking Movement: High number map to high number map

Textblock movement: Map 1-17 to high# map via textblocks

Textblock movement: from high# to map 1-17

Regen: not tested.

NPCs: not tested.

Update:

Still working on the not tested sofar the only way I can seem to get to the high# maps is to sys teleport to them.
