Yo, you lucky guys. :D
Just curious to see how the program is doing with editing the wccupda2.dll?
Does it create a new one (al la LJN), or can it edit the excisting one? Or do we still need to delete it to cure the Auto update problem?
Can't hardly wait to get my grubby little hands on it. :-p
laters,
Apollo

our DLL were using for mod9 still don't hit the wccupda2.dat to fix the regen problems, but the upda2.dat it compiles works great using the 'U' "apply an update" [SYSOP] option under mud..
Re: Question for the Nightmare Beta Testers. [Archive] - ForumsHQ
compiling an update with nightmare redux should definately fix any regen problems

Well this answers my question in another thread. But what I'm wondering is if my mod 9 DLL bypasses the update. I know my mod 8 one runs the update dat but I haven't tested the mod 9 dll yet. I'm assuming somebody has a mod 9 dll that runs it just in case thought right? :)

the dll's dont bypass the update file. they simply create a dummy one if it isn't there.

Ah ha cool... well I'm out of town for the next three weeks and I really don't feel like updating to mod 9 with remote desktop connection in case SOMETHING goes wrong so I'll be updating as soon as I get back.
Re: Question for the Nightmare Beta Testers. [Archive] - ForumsHQ
well actually.... :)
It jumps the memory address of detecting the .dat file.. if its not there then it creates a dummy file... but the dummy file actually has data in it tho.... of what? that I don't know...
If I could actually get the original .dll file I might be able to have it work completely properly... that skipping the check I think skips a few other vital things as well.... but my ASM is a little rusty and I can't figure out what its skipping... other than just the check
