Adding exp to users [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by Jackal »

Ok LJN is a great program but for some reason i can add $$ and exp to a char but the only place that shows the exp is the top list. The char has the same exp as before (in this case 30)

I'm running it in mod 8 and just about anything else i do to a char will stick but the exp isn't showing up at all i've tried from 900,000 to 900,000,000 and it only shows up on the top list.

Any ideas?

use your op commands and just sys add exp or whatever the command is... i forget right now... that'll work. screw editors... most of em dont like editing users anyway... cuz its lame... but if its for testing purposes and I'll assume thats what you're doing.... just do the sys command. Works like a charm.

I start all of my users off with 5 mill exp. *You can manually edit the file and it works. *There are three spots in the user file that need to be edited, and they all need to match. *The third section in the user file is the top list. *Every user has their own code (like FA77) or something. *Figure that out using the two sections above it. *One thing that is important though is that it has to be in the correct order (most exp to least exp). *So if you edit someone to something make sure you move the data arround appropriately.

The other two spots are in the particular users' section. *find their section and their exp comes right after their name (after a bunch of zero's). *the last spot is after the second set of lots of FFFFFFFFFFFFFs (still in their section). *you'll see a bunch of F's, then some zero's, then their exp, and then a "64" or "0064" or something of that sort, i forgot off hand.

last note, make sure you put in the value correctly (semi-backwards). for example, 5,000,000 in hex is 4C4B40. *but if you put that in the file you have to enter it 404B 4C00.

that ends my mini-tuturial

On a side note, if you really want to edit someones exp, you aren't having luck with any editors, but you DO have the sys edit exp command, (and don't want that nasty EDITED beside your name) - I found the following works beautifully:

Edit your experience to ten times that of which you want;

If you want to start with 10 mil, give yourself 100 mil... etc...

Make sure you train to whatever level it lets you train to...

Make sure SET KEEP is ON: then - just reroll. Reroll gives you 10% of your total exp, or HALF your levels --> whichever is more I believe. So yeah - just do it that way

All I can think is that Lance had the same opinions about user editing that I do
