Did you input your correct registration # into the keygen? Did you type the code into WG in setup mode? Did you type it in correctly? Uninstall WG and try it again.

Ignore Xetox, he doesnt know what hes talking about.

In order to get the reg generator to work you need to hex edit the file galgsbl.dll. Now one you've established your new reg#, you need to open that file using your favorite hex editor and search about 3/4 of the way down the list where you'll find the old reg#. Simply replace it with your new one and TADA! Your worldgroup is registered.

Yea listen to lunar and take a bunch of extra steps

1) Run wg320.exe

2) If you have the activation code, type it in, otherwise leave it “DEMO”

3) Install to c:\wg (or d:\wg, e:\wg…doesn’t really matter, just makes it easier for you to go to the directory.)

4) During install, it will ask about “active html…” Just click yes.

5) After finishing, WG will ask you to set up some initial configurations. It will ask for your bbs info: Name, phone #, address, etc. etc. (all you really need to worry about is “System Name”, or BBS name)

6) Click next and be sure to type in your password at the bottom. You can enter the other details if you want. Click Next.

7) Now it will ask what kind of bbs you want: Public, Private, etc… It’s fairly obvious what all these mean, so select the one you want. (Remember, you can also limit access by giving users keys and such). Click Next

8) Click next. (yes, again)

9) Unless you want to have dial up lines, just check tcp/ip and click next.

10) Now. If you have a static IP, then fill it in for the “Server IP Address.” Otherwise put in “AUTO” for Server IP Address. Generally, you don’t have to worry about the next three fields (if its auto-filled in for you, it will probably work, if its blank, it’s probably better off that way.). Unless you are using this for any other purpose than a BBS, you can just leave the rest of the fields blank.

11) Click Finish.

12) Now, click start->programs->worldgroup server->utilities->hardware setup

13) Expand the Core hardware setup. Expand Channel Group #1.

14) Make sure channel group #1 is selected as TCP/IP on the right side of the screen. Click Start1 and enter the starting channel (usually 1)

15) Click Numbr1 and enter the number of channels you want (in decimal form, ie. 1-255…note 0 is reserved for local logons.)

16) Exit and save.

17) Now start WG.

18) If all goes well, WG will come up and begin accepting telnet calls.

a) If you want to use the old console, follow these instructions:

i) Shutdown WG

ii) Click start-run-“regedit”

iii) Go to -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-GALATICOMM- WORLDGROUP SERVER-CURRENT VERSION

iv) Look for a key that says “UseConsoleWindow”

v) Double click it and change the “0” to a “1”

vi) Now when you start WG, it should load the old ANSI console window.
