wg 3.20 [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by kotar420 »

I have 2 diff ips on my comp, one static, one dynamic, the dynamic is my internet ip and needs to be ip in wg, but because it changes each time i relog my client changes my ip on dyn, but wg still tries to use the old (dynamic) ip, but when I try to use the AUTO command it won't let me, tells me its an invalid ip for my computer...but I can't specify the ip I need because it changes with each relog...Do I just have to change my wg ip each time I hafta relog?? or is there a way around this...

Thanks in advance for any help...

I may be wrong on this, but you don't need to worry about the IP as long as you are only running a BBS and not that 100 other daemons that run along with WG... Just disable all those BS resource hogs and you should be fine.

And I don't know why AUTO isn't working for you...

Also, how do you have a static ip and dynamic IP and the dynamic IP is the one with internet connection? You have a local network or something?

dunno...but my dynamic ip is my true ip to the internetk, if i link the dyn addy to my static ip it won't do shit, i can logon to the bbs from my pc but thats given..but when i change the ip from the static to the dynamic for my dyn addy it works like a charm, and i have no idea why auto won't work either, had a bbs prior to this one except it was run from a cable modem instead of a dsl and i used auto there and it worked like a charm, never had nay problems, for now tho each time i relog to my isp i have to go into worldgroup and change my ip ..which kind of sucks but it works and i don't have a problem with my dsl going offline so i can probably go long periods of time between updating my ip... i'll try disabling the other things tho hopefully that will work.... thanks for the help...
